OMEGA OVERVIEW

A standard seat is made up purely from foam which feels very comfortable when you sit on it, however once you hit a wave your body weight compresses the foam so much that it bottoms out, meaning the full force of the wave impact is taken through the spine. This sends a shock through your body that in some cases could result in pain or injury, particularly in your back.

However, when an OMEGA system is incorporated, once the foam has compressed the insert takes over to help reduce the shock effects, improving safety and reducing the chances of injury. OMEGA is designed to get progressively harder to endure that the passenger does not come to a hard stop, even under high the high “g” forces which make the apparent weight of the passenger much much higher.

So by combining both the foam and OMEGA, you get both safety and comfort from the cushion.

The OMEGA seat insert has been rigorously tested both on the water and on our state of the art drop test rig.

Important Information when choosing sizes. The OMEGA shock mitigating seat inserts need to have a minimum of 50mm of foam around the outside edge and 50mm of foam on top of them. This is vital as the foam around the edge holds the OMEGA's in place and gives the edge of your cushion a nice rounded soft feel. The 50mm of foam fitted on top of the unit is to increase the comfort.

A seat of 500mm by 300mm will need an insert closest to 400mm x 200mm.
